If you were her real sister, then you too would be getting beaten. You are the sister on the outside of her violently abusive life, witnessing and gradually knowing what is really going on. She has entrusted you with the truth, and also with her way of dealing with her pain by lying, and this is a heavy burden of responsibility for you to carry. This is incredibly difficult, knowing how much pain and fear she is experiencing yet not knowing how to really help. And I think you are right to consider her safety here, the abuse is getting worse and it is possible that he may go further. I suggest you call Childline (0800 1111), to talk through the situation without having to give any names, so that you can work out the best thing to do.You may not be little kids any more, but you're both still in need of advice and someone to talk to - and they will be able to suggest other sources of help and advice, as could Women's Aid. Don't try to deal with this on your own any longer. If she is placed into care this may be the best thing given the seriousness of the abuse within her family, however you know that it will take time for her to heal and she may find it hard to understand what it means to act in a loving and caring way given the way her family has mistreated her from a young age.

First off you get somewhere with protection like next to your bed, behind a dresser and hopefully in a locked room. Then you call 911, with 911 on the line you YELL You have broken into my house, I have called the police, get out, (repeat) get out, I have a gun (if you do), I will shoot. Make sure you have the police on the line the whole time so they can hear what is going on.

I get up to every unusual noise I hear, gun and knife in hand, prepared for the worst. I sneak around the whole house, staying low, knees bent, being quiet as a mouse, ready to pounce on any intruders. every time so far it's been a false alarm, but I'll get em' if they're there. I'm prepared. plus I've got the home field advantage.

I tell you, has happened to my family. I have the phone my by bed, so quickly dialled 911, talked real low meanwhile taking my baby beside me and going under my bed. The person was looking for some other person whom wasn't even living at my home and man was drunk.
Police were there like under 5 minutes flat.
You just can't imagine what runs through your mind, partly going to break down and cry or breathing so loud. And even thought we were not hurt, you still feel raped.
Thank god baby (09 months old) slept through it all.
LOL- I was so relieved cops made it there, I forgot baby under the bed. (only about 15 Min's. Safe and sound)
