Sometimes it does.
And when it seems that way I find that I see the worst that is going on in the whole wide world.
Pitiful. Indeed!
Then I remember that everything is relative.
I see that my problems no matter how great or small are no different than those problems experienced by everyone else.
I try not to assign greater importance to anything.
Suffering is suffering and we all suffer.
And the best thing I can do then is to count not only my blessings, but the blessings that those around me know.
I try in these times to do something for somebody else, lift the heart or trouble of another in difficulty, let them know that I care, experience the joy that others reap and be happy for their joy instead of wondering "why not me"
In short, get off my butt and do something.
After I wallow a little, that's allowed.
Wonderful, indeed!

It's that way until you learn the rules and start understanding how to make it work in your favor. Usually takes a while though. There are a few good philosophy study groups that can help but generally your on your own until you really get serious about making things better.

Life can be tough...real tough. Anyone who says i t isn't is either lying or being TOTALLY taken care of! :-)
It gets better, but it does take work. A person can't be lazy in this life and be happy. Hard work and watching the negative thinking are two great remedies for finding peace!
Hobbies, active things (like running/weight lifting, etc.) can bring peace...plus, you meet people, etc. Get out, be active, get in shape.
You have to back up, take a look at your life and make choices. You may have to stay away from some people who are not helping you. Surround yourself with positive things, positive people.
If you are into alcohol/drugs, get help...these are real downers.
There are way to live a happier life, but it doesn't happen by accident. You have to be willing to work at it...like I said, laziness is a killer.

Although people love to place blame and tout personal responsibility to make themselves feel so good about themselves, there really are degrees of difficulty in people's lives and some people really do have it allot harder than others.
That is why the stories about people succeeding against all odds are big stories, they are rare. Many people just live tough lives and die quietly, or anonymously. And that is in America, in other parts of the world some people get hacked up by machetes, stoned to death, starve or get blown up by bombs.

sometimes it does feel like that,,,, i think that is the time to look around, see what changes you can make,,, whether small or large,,,,,,and , always keep your own personal bag of favors, that will lift you up,,,, whether an inspiring book or quote, or a cd,,,,, or stash $20 aside for a treat (meal, movie, etc) that way, when things seem bad,,,,,, you can perk yourself up
and no matter what,, always remind yourself that in a sense you are lucky to have the challenges you have,,, many in this world are just troubled by what meal they will eat next, or they are confined to a hospital,,,,,, or their life ended early,,,, etc etc
