And then could you also tell me, how long did it take for him to respond personally to the victims of hurricane katrina?

Is Bush's respnse perhaps in the foggy eyed wake of how important it is to prove that as a president you actually (at least to try) need to express sympathy to those who are not necessarily within the same tax bracket, yet still likely, though dim-wittedly elected him into office?

Scurry is right.

Too bad he's going to have to talk about innocent kids getting killed, then come back to DC and figure out a way to keep more soldiers in the middle of a civil war he's too stupid to have prevented.

That stupid weasel can do NOTHING right.

Yes - Short distance - good photo-op
and the attorney general's testimony was delayed

On 9/11/01 he should have reacted just as fast to the news of the plane hitting the tower. he stayed in the classroom with the children for 9 minuets after he was told the second plane hit. despite claiming that he saw the first plane hit on the schools TV. the first plane hitting was made public until the next day.

I think, wonder of wonders, that he is actually worried about his legacy. Foggy-eyed is right, but too bad it took till the last months of his presidency to worry about what the citizens might think. He still has his head up his (you know what) about the Iraq war. Doesn't get that we want the soldiers home. I don't know how many times his head can slap against a brick wall before the fog clears on that.

I think he genuinely felt bad for them, and the families, after all this is a very rare occurrence, for so many at once to die needlessly. At a lesser degree, it is also in his back yard, almost, and obviously very easy to take time from his very busy schedule to go there.

As for Katrina, Bush responded correctly, as the first response is supposed to be the local officials, the mayor, then the governor, then Bush. He would have been chastised for interfering if he went too soon. You are being swayed by the Liberal Media.

The victims of Katrina did have a warning, they knew it was coming and chose to stay. The students had no warning whatsoever of what was coming their way.

Anyone who doesn't express sympathy for the tragedy at Virginia Tech does not possess a human soul.

As far as W's response times, they tell him what to do in an attempt to make him look good, to try to improve his approval rating. Wayy too late for that.

Jessy, I am glad that you see it that way. Too bad others don't see it that way or didn't in 2000 and 2004 when they were duped by the lies. People are beginning to wake up. I see evidence every day. More and more people are favoring Democratic party principles. GWB may be the best thing that has happened to the Democratic party in decades.

Landslide in 2008 like 1964 when Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater in a super landslide and ushered more Democrats into seats in both chamers of Congress.

Are you trying to knock him because he DID express sympathy? Are you saying "I don't believe he was sincere." thing? The, "Do you really want to have Chinese food or are you just doing what I want?" Do you think he was doing a bad thing by expressing sympathy for Virginia Tech? Is there anything he can do right in your eyes? Do you think it would've been better for him not to have consoled the parents? Also, for Hurricane Katrina, it's not like you can just teleport there. He had to finish up his business, wait until it was okay to actually land there. Sure, reporters got there fast, but he's not going to get in the way. As you might notice, wherever the president goes, he attracts quite a crowd. That crowd would've inconvened the rescue workers of Hurricane Katrina. The thing is, you've taken your hatred for Bush too far. I say if you want to criticize a politician, criticize his stance on issues, and his decisions. When you get to hate the politician as a person, your opinions become extremely biased. I hate people who can't say why they think that we should pull out of Iraq without referring to how George W. Bush was wrong to have gone into the war in the first place, instead of what a rational person would do, responding, "Well I think we should pull out because the Sunni Shi'ite violence is just increasing with our presence, and we really shouldn't be in there because we're kind of stuck in the middle, they don't want us there, and we're just getting hurt."
The reason I left the Democratic Party is because I realized their only real stance is, "George W. Bush is stupid." (They pick all their other stances based on opposing George W. Bush). From your message, you've been filled by the liberal media with too much hate for George W. Bush. When you can't watch him fly over to personally apologize to the victims without accusing him of lying and not stating his true feelings, you've been listening to too many liberals. My advice, stop watching John Stewart, don't listen to Air America, and don't read the New York Times. Watch CNN, read The Economist, etc. Just slightly less liberal news.

Tell me, just WF do you Bush haters want!!!
Had he not gone, you'd say he was insentitive.
Your little game of staying up all night to find something else to bash Bush about is becoming an exercise in futility. Really, few people are listening and even less are paying attention.

Bush flew over New Orleans for a week in Air Force 1 drinking Budweiser. He never stopped to find out what was going on either. What a brave man he is.
