The longer you wait, the more certain you will be that you and your partner will be together for the 20 years to raise your kids, and with each year you'll be more financial able to provide for them. Wait as long as you can stand to do so.

If we waited to have kids until we could afford them I think a lot of people wouldn't. You might as well you'll have them sooner or later just make sure you don't go over what you can offer to lose at this time if you have no kids.

Depends where you live. If you live in California, definitely not, because your rent or house payment is more than $2000. If you live in Texas or much less expensive places, maybe it could work. But also, it depends on how much you want to save for retirement, kids' college, vacation, etc.

Unless you live in a very expensive area, that should work. You won't have a lot of extra money for awhile, but if you want kids, they're more than worth a little financial struggle.
$50K isn't exactly poverty level, you know.
