Would my gaming experience be enhanced more with a NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT 512MB running in SLI mode, or with just a single NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB?

Well this combines two common mistakes made in graphics cards. One is, people just look at the amount of memory and assume more is better. The other is that they seem to think SLI is the most amazing thing ever.

Anyway, in some cases the SLI setup here might win, but in most cases, the 8800GTX would be better, and when DirectX 10 games come out, it will be the clear winner. But don't buy just yet, the 8800 Ultra is set to come out on May 1, which will be faster than the 8800GTX.

It appears that high core speed in SLI mode could beat the 8800 GTX in some 3D benchmarks, but NOT in all games.
