The Ten Commandments, or Decalogue, are a list of religious and moral imperatives which, according to Biblical tradition, were written by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai in the form of two stone tablets. They feature prominently in Judaism and Christianity. The phrase "Ten Commandments" generally refers to the very similar passages in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21, but is used by some to refer to the so-called "Ritual Decalogue" from Exodus 34.

God is the only God. No other.

Worship God and only God. Don't worship a statue or something stupid like that.

Don't use the Lord's name in vain. Just don't, okay?

Keep the Sabbath day holy. Sunday is a day of God and family, so go to Church and act like a good deciple.

Honor your mom and dad. Show them respect because they brought you here.

Don't go crazy and kill people.

Don't make sexy time with any one other than your spouse. It's just wrong if you do.

Don't take what isn't yours.

Don't lie.

Don't be jealous of other people's junk. Be verrry thankful for what you have and be proud of it. Accept and appreciate what others have without resenting them for it.

I just like Simply P Answer. That is the simple way to understand 10 Commandment.

But to me, I see it as the duty to God and mankind. First 4 is the duty to God, and the last 6 is duty to men (how we are to live happliy with man.)

Interesting to note, the first of the 6 rules to human relationship is our attitute to our parents.

During Jesus' time, this 10 commandments was condensed into 2 basic one. Love your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Love your neighbour as yourselves.

If one were to love others as ourselves, we will not steal from them, nor rope them or kill them. Or even make them sad (like making wife sad by sleeping them other gals, making neighbour sad by sleeping with his wife).

This is my interpretation.
