Where can I find information about absentee voting for citizen residing in the country who cannot make it the polls on voting day and want to request an absentee ballot?

You need to visit the website of your state of residence. Most of these have a link to explain how to request an absentee ballot.

ALL voting in the US is handled under state law. Many, if not most, states have individual counties actually run the elections. Find your local board of elections and find out the rules where you live. Some states allow you to request and complete an absentee ballot at the board of elections office during the last 2 weeks before election day.

You would need to contact the voter registrar of the county you are registered in. They can give you all of the information you need in order to request an absentee ballot.
