Honestly, you should avoid the couch. A chair is much better. It not only gives you arms on both sides to put your remotes on, they also act as support for your stomach so it doesn't slide over to the sides. If you find a chair that is thin enough it can actually act like a girdle and push your stomach up which then can be a natural table. You can place snacks or if you are big enough even set a beer right on your stomach table. I personally have a Barcolounger. It works great for me and I highly recommend it.

I would most definitly go with the a nice black leather lazy boy. It is 3 cushions wide, and has reclineing capabilities. You can get a more expensive version that will have built in cupholders. But as for getting a couch, the number couch potatoe appliance is the TV (preferably HD), once you have that then the couch/recliner, then comes a nice surround sound system. and finally a mini fridge that sits next to your couch/recliner. Now remember when you get all of this you need to color cordinate. Remember everything needs to be either black, orange, red, gray, white, green, yellow, purple, or basically whatever color your favorite team is. Now remember this furniture will go best in a room that it stands out in, so any room that someone has made an attempt to make look "nice" i would start puting everything in there as to make you stand out more and give people a true scope of how big of good of a couch potatoe you truely are...

No...The lazyboy definately..You could do the microfiber easychair or the couch...I think it's called the Madaline or the melanie couch. They cost like 1099.00 or something like that.

Sharp point. I'd get one made of virgin Basalt. THAT way even if you GAIN a few Kilograms over the Season- your couch should hold up JUST fine. :)
