What are a few trustworthy brands of PC memory for gaming?

the only brands i memory i know are Ultra and Kingston

Corsair, Geil, OCZ, Mushkin, Patriot, Team Extreme, Kingmax, etc. There are lots of them.

BUT look for their hi-performance offering, NOT the value offerings. The former would be fast because of low latency. They could run with tight memory timings. You could usually squeeze out the best performance from hi-performance RAM if you have an enthusiast board with all the tweaking options in BIOS.

OK if you looking for the best memory then ocz platinum is the best Kingston is OK but there are alot better for cost wise elixir is the best bang for you buck
