May be a vacuum leak, move the vehicle to a well ventilated area and away from any buildings. If equipped with a tach, have someone sit in the driver's seat & watch the tach.

Spray a LITTLE starting fluid, or carb. cleaner, where the intake manifold bolts up to the head & all your vacuum lines/fittings. If there is noticeable movement in the tach, then you need to check the vacuum lines, &/or tighten the manifold, or replace the intake gasket.

I actually have a Mini Cooper, and it befell that the easy for the gasoline CAP being closed became on an identical circuit because of the fact the caution easy for 'verify Engine' that ought to sign significant upkeep. It grew to become out which you're actually not "meant" to coach on the vehicle whilst the gasoline cap is open, or eliminate the foremost from the ignition whilst pumping gasoline or some thing like that. stupid. whilst this would not clarify the vehicle stalling at idle and the different issues you describe, you are able to merely make confident that the gasoline cap is final actual and don't do 2 issues at as quickly as the subsequent time you're filling the vehicle with gasoline. i might make confident the vehicle has sufficient ENGINE OIL, via checking the dipstick (which a chum can actual do in case you do not know how), and waiting for the provider to have them verify the electricals and confirm the stalling. The Mini broking needed $108 to be taught my circuits outdoors the conventional upkeep time, the crooks. yet it is the way of the worldwide at present. all people have faith as I do this computing gadget-chips in maximum automobiles are far greater difficulty than they are truly worth? Idiots driving everywhere close to civilization with Ion-beam headlights designed for driving on the moon please abstain from comments. We already know the place you're coming from, and up your tailpipes is all I might desire to assert.

That would be a vacuum leak. You'll probably find a hose off or cracked under the hood somewhere.

I second Nomad, sounds like a vacuum leak. One of your hoses may be off (any kind of oil will deteriorate rubber. Either make it hard and brittle, or soft and spongy).

get it tuned up, it sounds like the noise you hear is the serpentine belt or you have a vaccum leak and that would cause rough idling.
