Because it's not firing on all cylinders at idle. Worn valves or rings, vacuum leaks or dirty injectors could do it. Look for vacuum leaks, do a compression check and get the injectors cleaned if the other things don't show anything wrong.

The idle is probably set too low. Also spark plugs could be dirty and also need new spark plug wires.

either you have a monster of a cam or you are in need of a tune up or maybe your TPS is not working properly

one cylinder is misfiring.or fire unevenly.
may be ,one of the .......
spark plug , fuel injector , the wire is loose,distributor cap too old,etc.
