My house seems to be infested with small black bugs - about 5mm long, 3mm wide. They look like beetles because they have hard shiny shells, but there are no visible legs or feelers. They seem to have wings, but don't fly very well - they mostly walk very very slowly. We've seen them mainly in bedrooms, on the floor or on clothes. We have a cat, but the bugs are not fleas, and we haven't had the windows open. We live in the Midwest. Does anyone know what these bugs are?

I would have said they were big fleas haha but slow moving, wings and no jumping? Maybe its a small type of ground beetle?

Flea Beetles. Stick some sticky traps around over night and they will be attracted to it and they will get stuck. MORE: You said in your question they were about thesize of poppy seeds -_- Some species of subspecies of Flea Beetles are all black. They are commonly the size or around the size of poppy seeds.
