I live in a small rural community (ugh), and have seen this many times. I know alot of females who love football, but dare not admit it. People can be fairly misogynistic here. Men primarily dig sports as a means of "bonding without appearing gay". Even non-homophobic men do this. It's like watching them watch Gladitorial combat - chest thumping, hooting, hollaring, etc. It's how they justify their manliness. It might be different elsewhere. They also think their wives find the 11th grade locker-room behavior sexy. Many of them do not. But they passify their husbands into thinking they like it.
The real fact of the matter is, when men aren't around men they seldomly (if ever) watch football. Sometimes I think females actually enjoy it more than men.
Just my observation.

because its lame! i cant watch any sports not just football! why do people watch sports instead of going out to play them? if they spent less time on their *** WATCHING other people play, instead of going out and playing themselves....we wouldnt have a country full of overweight people!
