I don't normally have time to watch her show but today she addressed some racial communication issues. I was impressed. I think people are sick of the language on both sides of the fence.

Yes, and yesterday. The topic is of particular interest to me seeing as I am black and do not fit the stereotypes of black people or black woman. I think the people that didn't watch the show are the ones who needed to watch the show. The topic is one I have been concerned about for years.

All I know is there are those who are truly negligent and they are WRONG because they didn't care... HOWEVER, I know there are also times when something so precious as a child CAN be sadly left. We can't understand it, but it is possible. I do not believe that makes someone a bad parent, especially if you look at the situation as a whole-what was the mother/father's parenting like up until that point? Were they known to frequently neglect their child or was the circumstance literally a "freak"/anomaly? You can NEVER take a single event (unless it's a fit of rage type thing) and say that one thing makes them a bad parent, especially when it could genuinely be a TOTAL, horrible as it is, lapse in memory... it does NOT make it "ok", but that parent, especially a genuinely concerned, loving parent has to live with not only their child is now DEAD, but THEY are responsible for it... I know it's easy to say self righteously that they are EVIL and BAD, but how WOULD you feel if the shoe were on the other foot? It is more than possible because NO human is perfect, and sometimes we do make tragic errors that we NEVER intend to make...
