You might also want to change the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Statue of Liberty, and pretty much everything America used to stand for, then.

I share your frustration, I truly do. The reality, however, is that the United States is not an island. We're a member of the global community. I can also assure you that many universities need money coming in from foreign countries.
Saying that we will stop foreign students is as foolish as saying that gun control would have stopped this horrific act. The reality is that there are evil and bad people in the world and no matter what plans we have, the evil people, who are willing to die are almost impossible to stop.

I would be in faver of a plan to stop all immigration into the country for 2 years. The third year we would let in 100, 000(a drop in the bucket compared to today). It could then increase by a small percent for ten years at which time we could look at the situation again. All illegals here would have to prove they have a job, submit to fingerprinting and DNA samples, would have to have their checks garnished by 10% over and above taxes until they paid a 10, 000 dollar fee for a guest worker permit. If they commit one crime, just one they would be deported along with any other member of their household.
Now back to the shootings, If one student would have had a permit to carry a handgun, they could have killed this piece of garbage before he could have done so much damage.

You are absolutely right! I think we should kick out anyone who has any sort of immigration to this country in their family history since the first ship landed those few hundred years ago and let the Native Americans have their land back in peace!
So, let us (which includes 99% of the population in the U.S.) start packing our bags and ship out because no immigrant (including their decendents) deserves to live here.
Okay, enough sardonicism....
Now, as horrible as the attrocities against the Native Americans was, more than 99% of the people in this country are immigrants or decended from immigrants. Why do you think America is so prosperous to begin with? It is because it takes a lot of will and determination to leave one's homeland an emmigrate to a new country. Our country was founded on these types of people - and STILL is being forged with people who are strong willed and determined at having a better life.
Reread your post and really think hard about what you are ACTUALLY saying.
Just because bad things happen doesn't give one a right to be racist against immigrants. They are who forged this country - we owe them everything.

Amen there, we wouldn't have had 9/11 either if that were the case!
The fact is gun control CAUSES crime. Gun control has never worked anywhere so why cite it as a solution?
I think it was a tragedy first and foremost and my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.
The killer alone caused the crime, but the high number of victims is directly caused by gun control. The Virginia Tech killer never registered his gun, so why cite registration as a solution?
They were just sitting ducks with no way to defend themselves much like the victims of Colin Ferguson. Concealed-carry advocates warned us all long ago to expect tragedies like this as long as we have gun control.
When only criminals have guns the rest of us can only ponder tactics like "notifications."
In a state where concealed-carry is allowed or promoted, the loss of life could have been much less. He may have shot one or two, but a concealed-carrier would have dispatched him right quick.
Sadly there is no way to prevent a killer with a gun. In tribal Africa where there are no manufactured guns, tribesman make them from pipes and rubber-bands so clearly gun control is not the answer. You can make a gun out of wood in an hour! He could have stabbed just as many with a knife.
Since you will never stop the OFFENSE, we must allow ourselves a DEFENSE. We are not all of one culture anymore, so violence will only increase.
HB 1572 was a Virginia state bill to allow college students to carry arms on campus to protect themselves from tragedies like what happened at Virginia Tech. The bill was defeated
The spokesman for Virginia Tech was happy to hear the bill [HB 1572] was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."
The fact is NOT passing the bill allowing students to defend themselves caused many more deaths. States that pass concealed-carry laws experience lower crime rates, Texas is a good example of this.
The only way to prevent these killing rampages is concealed-carry. Would you rather protect yourself or wait for the folly of police or school "notification?”

Gun control is not the answer because it will be the criminals owning the guns and the law abiding public will be left defenseless. Cocaine is illegal but the criminals have it and the law abiding citizens do not, what makes anyone think that putting a ban on guns will stop the madness that seems to be taking over our country?

precise. worry of weapons. the reason distant places pupils do no longer flock right here anymore is as a results of the low coaching point given via US faculties because of the fact the Gov. Dumbed down our coaching so the minorities ought to supposedly shop up and not experience left in the back of after which drop out. this is how liberalism works. hit upon a topic, make it worse and not restoration it so which you would be able to continually use it as a reason to develop taxes.

I agree! But most liberals out there would tell you that we can't discriminate against people from other countries. I don't understand why so many come here to go to college if their countries are so wonderful as most of them say they are. I think that you should love and be loyal to your home country but don't expect another country to restrict their citizens rights so you can do what you want there. The U.S. is the worst country about catering to others there is.

Please! How small minded can you get, one disturbed foreign student and you want to kick them all out? Ridiculous, I would like to point out that an Israeli professor was killed trying to protect his students. A Canadian professor was also amoung the victims.
I have two brothers working as professors in the U.S., we are Canadians, my sister-in-law is Israeli and also a prof. All, as foreigners, studied in the US. They are now helping educate your children. Should they have been kicked out of your country? Get real!
