Night of the living dead zombies or Dawn of the Dead (2004) zombies?

Fast zombies

Dawn of the Dead 2004 was influenced a bit by the infected in 28 Days Later but fast zombies make the film more exciting because the audience were expecting the shuffling and moaning types

That said when they make World War Z into a film its essential they be the old style Romero zombies - its the overwhelming
numbers that'll give its impact

I guess it depends on what you mean by the question. Running zombies are certainly more disturbing, from a survival standpoint. But if I had to pick one, it would be the traditional walking zombie. Rigor Mortis, right? Plus, I always thought it was kind of cool that really, by itself, a zombie wasn't that big of a threat to anyone who was aware of it's presence. It was only when the infection had spread and there was a swarm of them that they really became a problem. Because even if they are just walking, surrounded is surrounded. Running zombies don't really have too much of a downside, which diminishes their character. However, I'm not opposed to "leader" zombies and "grunt" zombies. Or it makes sense that the fresh undead would still have a bit of a spring in their step.

Depends on what your meaning is.
Night of the Living Dead, the original, had the slow zombies that you may be able to eacape, not to mention, that is what you would imagine the walking dead to be like.
Dawn of the Dead, the latest, had the zombies who moved similar to us and even began to think... very sacry stuff there!
Shaun of the Dead, the spoof, had the slow moving zombies, but they seemed to think some, still, very funny stuff!
White Zombie, the band, is now longer together. Now it is Rob Zomble, the artist and filmaker, still very creepy but rockin' none the less!

I have to believe that zombies would be relatively mobile. The only zombies that you would see moving around in this day and age would be the reanimated corpses of the recently deceased. There is no way that a zombie would be strong enough to free itself from a coffin let alone tunnel itself through the ground. We wouldn't see the corpses that are all decayed and falling apart. The zombies would be from funeral homes, morgues and recently killed victims so there level of rigor mortis wouldn't be that extreme so they would be fairly mobile.

I like the walking zombies better, but the running zombies scare me more. I'd like to see a sontering zombie, or a strolling zombie.
