When the computer asks if you want to Work Offline it is because it lost the network connection. I have my computer running through a router to a cable modem to the cable service which is run by Time Warner. When I get a drop out on the cable I get the same message showing up. To fix it I have to reboot the cable modem and then the router. The fault isn’t on my side, because I replaced the equipment, the fault is on the cable broadband.
When I leave my computer for a while about 75% of the time the cable has dropped out leaving me offline, so I have to do a reboot of the cable modem and the router.
In your case I would check the wiring and then the network card. A single lose wire or a card not seated correctly can cause this problem. If the offending computer works on the network sometimes and doesn’t work other times, while the other machines on the network are working fine; then the most likely problem is one of a bad connection.
I suggest that you swap out the computer that is having problems with a new connection. Either wire it to a different jack on the router, or swap the wireless card with a computer that works. If the problem shows up on another computer then you know that the fault is with the wiring, the router, or the wireless card. If the same computer is having the same problems then there has to be something wrong inside of that individual computer. You may have to reinstall the network or even the OS to make sure that you have it correct.

Are you using the same version of windows?
i.e. Cracked versions can cause this sort of problem
Are you using the same firewall?
Is it locking up or just giving you an error?
Have you ran anti-virus software - you can't rule out a trojan.
This is probably obvious but are your network settings all the same?
I suggest you spend more time on google running the gambit of scenerios. It appears your computer is working okay, my guess is either the version of your interface or the settingss. But you really need to be more specific. Typically if you are knocked off, your firewall security settings are too high, someone knocked you off, etc. You need to provide more details, what drivers are you using, what type of computer, what type of firewall, how many computers, what type of interface, etc.
Good Luck

Do disk cleanup and defrag (in abode windows). Delete each and every thing you do no longer choose or use, or save it on a reminiscence stick.. Then defrag returned. except you have a restoration disk (you will deliver it returned to that's unique state and lose all your archives), or a abode windows disk the place you could keep modern archives you're caught. extra suitable reminiscence is the likely thank you to improve velocity, yet truly you will desire to tidy up first previously spending.

You didn't say if you are wired or wireless? If wireless and it is a linksys wireless usb, welcome to the club! Linksys installs their own controller that conflicts with windows. Start - run - type msconfig. Go to start and disable anything that says linksys. On windows reboot, windows will be in charge and all will be well. You may to select the wireless network, connect and give it the PW once.
That solved all the issues I had with linksys dropping off on the wireless USB.

When you're online, click on your 'File' option, and it will say "Work Offline" at the near bottom.
If it's checked, click on it to uncheck it.
Then you're fine!
