in America?

Would America be safer if you could buy these things at the local Wal-Mart?

David Koresh had all of those in Waco inside his Branch Dividian Church.

I think you do not know what you are talking about. THERE ARE NO FEDERAL LAWS BANNING THE THINGS YOU LISTED.

If I want to buy any of the things you listed, all I have to do is use an ATF form 4 and pay the $200 tax. The BATFE routinely approves transfers of machine guns, and explosives in the USA in states where they are legally owned by civilians. I do not even need a license, just the ATF form and tax stamp.

I can also make any of the above by using an ATF form 1 and paying the $200 tax. The only problem is the machine gun, I can only make it for the government (army, police ECT).

I do not think America would be safer if you could buy them at Wal-mart. But you sure can buy them online, then transfer them via a licensed dealer or make them yourself.

Use Google, it will bring up lots of hits.

Full auto rifles are already legal. Check with a gun store and they can explain the way to go about a legal purchase. That is of course if you don't live in some place like the Peoples Republic of California, then they're banned under state law I believe. But if your there you can buy one on the streets of LA.

Do you know that every Swiss citizen is legally required to have his military equipment at home, including guns (M57 automatic assault rifles) and ammo ? They keep a very small army, but can mobilize the whole country in 2-3 hours !!! That's one of the reasons Switzerland was never invaded, and during WW2, Nazis were at war with the whole world, including US, UK, and Russia, they went 2000 miles east up to the gates of Moscow, but not in Switzerland, and please check where Switzerland is on the map...
Now, how many times have you heard about shootings in Switzerland ??? The gun crime rate is a small fraction of the American rate, and in fact it's so low that statistics are not even kept... The same for Israel, they all have guns, assault rifles, even machine guns at home, but you'll never see a Swiss killing another Swiss or an Israeli killing another Israeli...
I think it's a matter of EDUCATION and CULTURE, which lead to TOLERANCE and RESPECT for others. Forcing people to obey stupid laws and gun control is NOT the answer, that can only lead to rebellion and more chaos. Sane, responsible, educated FREE people do not have any reason to take a gun and shoot another human being ...

Lyonn, The ammo in the Mk-19 40mm automatic grenade launcher and .50 cal MG is in individual links joined together in what is called a "belt". The individual links are discarded by the bolt operation, as the round is loaded into the chamber. I loved firing the .50, but the M-60 was the MG of my generation. My unit actually used some of the experimental 40mm grenade launchers in Vietnam. I remember one in particular we played with that had a five round magazine.

Already legalized. I fired and qualified for all of the above in the Army.

As for nonmilitary, I would favor outlawing mines, and arm police with grenades, grenade launchers, machine guns, and automatic rifles and legalizing only pistols, shotguns, and hunting rifles for the average citizen.

Yeah buy them at Wal-Mart. Get them home and they won't work because they will be seconds or knock offs of the real thing.

Hand guns, single shot rifles and shotguns are enough. People don't need military weapons. Just think about it. You inadvertently cut some guy off on the freeway and blam-o your car blows up with you in it. Now all you get is the finger from most and even when they do use a gun it is small enough to possibly get away from.

I am a supporter of the right to bear arms. However, there is a huge responsibility that accompanies that right. Sadly, the average citizen doesn't use due diligence in handling the responsibility of that right. That being said, I am vehemently opposed to the weapons you describe being made available to the general public. We have enough issues in this country as it is with road rage, and people going postal. Look at the recent incident with VA Tech? Imagine what that student could have done with access to that type of weaponry? Perish the thought. No, America would not be safer with access to the weaponry you describe.

There is alot of difference between a rocket launcher and a SKS rifle. Your brilliant minds in govt think that a bayonet lug makes all the difference in the world.
Why, may I ask, should Rosie O'Donnell be protected by her hired thugs with MP-5's and I shouldn't be able to carry one to protect myself?
People are falling victim to the elitists, like the rich and celebrities, who want two sets of rules. One for them and one for us.

Not grenades or mines, but a fully automatic rifle might be nice.
You can make a rocket launcher out of PVC pipe. Way cheaper.

The Bush Administration has failed to or has ignored signing the International Landmine Ban. Ironically, and disturbingly enough, our own troops are being blown up on almost a daily basis by IEDs.
