Definitely go if you get a chance. Best of all, if you are a H.S. or college student, go now. I was fortunate to go on a 5-week summer program while I was in college. I stayed at Queen Eliz. College in Kensington (London) and took class 2 hours a day, 2 days a week and had the rest of the time to travel. Best of all, students get in free to lots of places, so it's a little cheaper to go as a student.

London is great - a nice combination of old, historic stuff and the modern. I was there in 1985 when the punk movement was in full blow. Guys with blue spiked mohawks standing in front of Westminster Abbey was a true visual of how mankind has progressed.

If you go, take in other area's too, though. Scotland and Wales are beautiful. I've also been to Germany, France and
Spain. I'd recommend Spain/Madrid and the Spanish Mediterranean coast, too. I'm hoping to get to Ireland next ...

I disagree with you, i've got been raised in London, and that i could no longer love England extra. It has city existence in London, or perhaps though it incredibly is totally modern and crammed with little ones, it nevertheless keeps one foot in the previous, conserving it incredibly is wealthy historic previous and charm. basically attempt stroling by St James palace, and seeing the pony guards after which St James Park and tell me it is not unique. With each little thing London has to grant, there is likewise plenty outdoors London. Take Manchester, as an occasion. The construction blocks and birthplace for bands alongside with Oasis, The Smiths, Stone Roses, satisfied Mondays among others. Liverpool gave thank you to the beatles. England became into the birthplace of the Rolling Stones. particular issues basically ensue right here. And in the nation-state, it incredibly is something completely superb. England's crammed with green hills and pastures and places extra captivating than imiganable. heavily, England is basically, wow. i admire residing right here!! =D

London is a wonderful city and one that I would visit over and over again! My last trip was a year ago and I hope to go again real soon. There is so much do see and do. The museums alone are amazing! Although expensive, deals can be found. Check out Rick Steve's travel guide for some tips. Enjoy!

Hi.

I'm lucky; my wife's never been there, and I have.

It's expensive; so stay somewhere outside London and come in on a bus so you can have more days without dying of hotel bills. It's one of the best cities. I saw many things in a week; the best were the National Portrait Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, the WW II Museum, taking a board ride on the Thames to see the Tower of London, doing a walking tour to see the Inns of Court and the bus trip we took to Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle.

Oh, and I got to see a play and eat lunch at the British Museum pub, shepherd's pie. There's so much to see there, from Trafalgar Square to Piccadilly Circus, the Serpentine, the Houses of parliament, shopping, the Underground (subway), Westminster Abbey--I hope you make it.

It truly is one of the great city's,when I lived in Jolly old England I visited it many times. If you ever get there be sure to try and visit Europe too, it will open your eyes as to what makes city's great. By the way London is not in Europe as someone stated. Just a note to fashioni. you forgot Australia,so, according to you there are 8 continents you need to brush up on your geography.

It is a fabulous city. I went there for 10 days last November. There is so much to see & do, and the museums are free. That is probably the best deal in town. The town is beautiful and a lot of fun to explore...lots of nooks & crannies to explore. One of the best restaurants is Wagamama...it is all over the city. Keep in mind though that it is a very expensive city and the exchange is horrible. If something is 5 pounds, it really is about $10.

i really prefer the north east of england. the countryside is lovely, the people are warm and friendly, there's lots to see and do but it's not nearly so touristy and expensive as london.

if you do get to go to london i hope you have a great time :)
