Sometimes you will get a heavy one. It always helped me to get a heating pad and put it on my belly and take 3 advil. The advil help to stop the cramping. Three will not hurt you. That is what my doctor used to reccommend when I was in school. I don't think I would have gotten through High School without them! I took them every 6 hours. The heating pad is awesome and I fell asleep with it on. Now they have the heating belly patches that stick and last eight hours. That would make it so you wouldn't miss school. The advil may help slow the bleeding down. If you haven't slowed down in a few days.... I would go to your doctor.

Well it's not good, but probably nothing to worry about. We all have different flow rates, and your cycles will change over time. Best just to wait it out and see what happens next time.

If they carry on being really heavy, and it's enough to stop you doing the things that you want to do, then it's best to go and see your doctor, as there are ways to lessen it.

If you buy the really absorbent night time pads, and use internal protection as well, this will let you go out without worrying about things so much.

Good luck, I'm sure it will all settle down soon

We all get an occasional heavy period. But, if this happens during most of your periods, you should see a doctor. Keep a record of how many pads you use each day. Be sure to eat well and drink lots of fluids. You might need to take some iron. Menorrhagia is consistently heavy periods and can be medically significant.

I've had days like that. It isn't fun. Try putting your feet up and placing a heating pad on either your stomach or your lower back. Eat a little extra red meat this week to help keep your iron levels up. If it keep up like this then you may want to call a doctor to make sure you aren't loosing too much blood.

That is ridiculously heavy, but if you are still young enough to be at school, i wouldnt worry, mine didnt settle down til i was 22. And try to remember its not pure blood you are losing, just drink plenty of water and try and eat energy rich foods

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You don't say how old you are, but the occasional heavy period comes to all women from time to time. Be sure to drink lots of water to replace any fluids you may be losing.

It's normal for it to be heavy, but if you feel dizzy or light-headed you may be losing too much blood. Maybe call your doctor just in case, I would if I were concerned. You don't want to bleed to death or anything!
