You should really talk to her pediatrician before you give her anything. I agree that Karo syrup and prune juice will work along with glycerin suppositories. However you shouldnt give her anything before you clear it with her doctor first. If you dont want to take her in, then call the office and ask to speak to the nurse on duty. Tell her your problem, most often they will give you advice over the phone and theres no charge! Nurses are a great way to avoid those unnecessary doctors office visits.

My doc always had me cut the childrens suppository in half, ONLY if the prune juice and the karo syrup didnt work first. APPLE JUICE AND APPLE SAUCE are NOT appropriate for babies under the age of 5-6 months. Their tummies are NOT mature enough to handle it and it can cause major problems down the road in life. Not to mention that apple sauce CAN CAUSE constipation. If you daughter is that young then I suggest the karo syrup just a tablespoon in her bottles. BUT I would check with your pediatrician first.

Good Luck

What you can do Is buy some GRIP WATER. You can get this at your local pharmacy for about 3$. It will help with different kinds of problems. Colic's, Hiccups, Gas, and other things. This sounds solve your issue. My son always has a hard time to go. And i give this too him and within 20 min to 1/2 an hour, he will go and the poop is alot softer. Good luck !

Rather than try to manually extract it (a dangerous business best left to experts), the safest and quickest way is to give him a baby-size glycerine suppository. If it is baby-size (1 gram dose in UK) you won't need to cut it in half. The best insertion method is to bend him over your lap, so you can spread his butt cheeks and insert the suppository (push it all the way in, until it gets sucked away). Watch over him for 5 mins or so, to make sure he doesn't push it out before it's dissolved. He might put up a fuss, but it'll help him to do a smelly, in less than half an hour!

How old is she? My daughter has had constipation for months! Poor girl. She is over a year old, so I try to give her diluted prune juice every day and make sure she drinks lots of water. Other options are: karo syrup, mineral oil that you can mix into baby food, or glycerin suppositories.

My son had the same problem and the doctor told me to give him less milk and more juice including prune, even thou is doesn't taste so good it works. Also give her a lot of fruits and oatmeal they really help. Since I started this routine my son goes to the bathroom with no problems at all.

The kid needs some liquid, try apple juice. If she is old enough get the 100% apple juice, that will clear that up for sure.
