When i looked at a site there, my mouse pointer vanished on the screen but PC continued working as normal (the pointer just seemed invisible) - i restarted and it's fine now, but i'm wondering why the pointer disappeared?

Sometimes when you hover your mouse over an advertisement made in Flash, sometimes your mouse disappears. Just keep on moving your mouse and wait till the pointer is visible again.

It's quite possible that there was a cat on the website you visited, and if so can you blame the mouse for hiding. Sorry couldn't rsist that. Actually the answer above is correct quite often flash objects cause this effect. Nothing to worry about ( except those cats)

when that sort of thing happens it's usually a video driver problem I suggest you visit your graphics card manufacturers website and download the latest drivers that should cure your problem
