First, give a cynical laugh.

"Heh heh heh."

Then, the squelch.

"I bet that joke was funny....back in 1953!"

OR

"Were you up all night working on that one?"

Then, you walk away, while they are left spluttering

The fact that you say you are emo doesn't help. If you are labeling yourself, why shouldn't others? By stereotyping yourself you are only fueling the fire... Either stop being emo or just deal with it... or you can always go cut yourself...

*Just because you like emo music doesn't make you "emo." Whinning about crap like this makes you emo.

tell them you'd much rather be cutting their wrists rather than your own.

then tell them that you want a emo lawn, so that it cuts itself.

then point out that emo's are basically 10 year old minded people clinging to their insecurities.. which is remarkabley similar to people who constantly bully/are nasty to other people, so by logical definition, they are far more emo than you.

oh, and lets not forget, they are the ones so miserable that they have to spread that misery to others, tell them to calm down, go into the bathroom with a blade and let it all out.. it's reeealy obvious that they;re closet emos.

More than one advice column says that the best response to a rude question is to smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

It's a polite way to say it's none of their business.

Okay, it's not snappy or a put-down, but it raises you above their level, takes the fuel from the fire, and it points out they're being rude without being rude yourself.

what is emo.......guessing emotional disorder by the suggestion of cutting yourself...........let it go........silence is your best weapon.....they are doing it to draw attention to themselves for some lack of security in some area of their life.....if you are going to be a shrink, then say see you on my couch in 10 years you f8888ng nutcase........well i would really try to be silent and ignore them, that will hurt them worse than some lame comeback..........you dont seem like that kind of person who wants to hurt others, so stick to who you are and ignore the ignorant ppl in this world........

I would stand a better chance of answering this if i knew what the hell "emo" is !!!!!

Is it someone who self inflicts ???

Or someone who is emotionally strained ???

either way just tell them to go kiss your a** cause that would give you a laugh..............

Best one for the jerks is "gee, ever heard that one before" and roll your eye's. Sounds stupid, but try it and watch the reaction as they try to dance around it.

You could say: "Are you so stupid that you must point out my obvious self pity, even after I have chosen to put it on display."
