Is it true that when you have heart burn during pregnancy your baby child will have a head full of hair when its born?

This can actually go both ways. I had heartburn horrible and had a baby with a full head of hair. My sister had heartburn and her son who is 15 months old is still bald. Who knows.

I just heard a story about a month back that they are finally finding evidence that this is not just an old wives tale that there is actually truth in it... And if this helps you at all I had no heartburn what so ever during all 4 of my pregnancies and my babies were bald or nearly bald at birth and didn't have a " head full of hair" until they were over a year old.....

I heard that twice and then decided to give it some thought. Most babies once they are big enough to press on the stomach and cause heartburn are head down. So the theory that all that hair is tickling the stomach is wrong.
Even if the baby IS head up, there are 2 layers of muscle between the baby and your stomach. Your diaphragm and your uterus. There is really no way for this to be true. If your baby does have a head full of hair and you have lots of heartburn, its just a coincidence.

No, this is not true. However, I did have very bad heartburn and all of my children were born with a full head of hair. It's just an old wives tale.

I think it is just an old wives tale. I had heart burn with all of my pregnancies and only my first one had a lot of hair.

Im not sure if it's true or not, as I am pregnant with my first, but my heartburn has been so bad I have been telling everyone that if it is true, my little girl will be born with enough hair to make a donation to locks of love!!!

its supposed to be an old wives tale. But yeah i had heartburn like you wouldn't believe with all 4 of my kids and they all had a head full of dark black hair. but hey they are half Mexican and half native American. guess you'll have to wait until the baby is born. Good luck

I don't believe in old wives tales at all but it was true for me and my mom. My brother and I were both born with tons of hair and she had bad heartburn. My daughter - a week old :) - was also born with tons of hair and I had heartburn as well.

I didn't have any heartburn and my daughter came out with jet black hair, about 3in long and stood straight up. Which is really funny because all the babies born in my family were bald. She was the prettiest baby I had ever seen, although it might be because that's my first baby and I'm her mom.

I'm sure this is just another wives tale, but I hope it comes true. I am on my third 35 weeks, and have lots of heartburn. I never did with my first two (girls) and they were both almost bald at birth.
