Is it not sad the lack of any respect to someone who was there, was shot at, carried fallen comrades, and would have gladly put themselves in harms way to spare a comrade? Dont celebrate us, dont coddle us, just dont be so darn disrespectfull. If you are one that says "I would never disrespect a VET" I will e-mail you over 200 comments from your LIB buddies who constantly bash us VETS. What a shame. I type this with tears....

First off... Thank you, my brother in arms.. I am ex Army and I know how you feel and what you are going through. I realized the liberal lie after Gulf war I. Liberals, no matter how many times they say they support the troops but not the war are full of Sh*t. They hate us just as much as their coward liberal leaders. It pains me to see the lengths in which they are going through to turn our free society into a socialist/communist state. Just remember you will always have your brothers and sisters who wore the boots, slept in the foxholes, and stood willing to die to keep our country safe and whole. Remember your oath my friend "Against all enemies foreign and domestic" I see more domestic enemies behind us at home than the foreign in front of us.

I have not heard anyone bashing vets. I am sure, beyond any doubt that all Americans want what is best for the troops. The "Libs" just want you all home and safe instead of staying in the middle of a civil war.
The vast majority of dead American soldiers were killed by bombs in the roads, Bush could have sent hum V' that had protective armor under them. We have them, have had them since before the war began but instead of helping the troops he was lining the pockets of his buddies at Haliburton.
I support bringing the men and women of the armed forces home safe. I support giving them everything they need to stay safe until we can get them home.
I do not subscribe to the ridiculous "Support The Troops" slogan that makes it appear that if you do not support the war then you must not support the troops, that is pure crap.
jay-v below is delusional.

Is there anything that is worth the life of your friends in the front lines who died? While you think of an answer consider this, your friends did it and would probably do it again.
The honor of serving a cause you believe is in serving the cause you believe. If you did it for cash, like over 120,000 do it in Iraq (at a salary higher than that of a Field Grade) then, at least, you got the cash.
If you did not think it was an honor and priviledge to fight for what you believe, what else would you fight for? Perhaps you shouldn't fight for anything(?), of course, you decide but, consider this: If not for what you believe, then for what? Fight for what you do not believe? That would be irrational.

If you want a red carpet wherever you go: Have you consider a career in movies? Dancing with The Stars? What is your talent? To seek adulation, respect, mass of friends? Have you read Macbeth? (forgot the author) "my way of life is fallen into the sear, the yellow leaf and that which should accompany old age, like honor, love, respect, troops of friends, I must not look to have..." Read it, you might find it relevant and helpful.
By the way, you are not the first one with this problem, nor the last, which is, of course, of no comfort.

I am a non believing bush hater as well, but hold our vets in the highest regards. I may not agree with our country's war tactics, but do very much value the live and efforts of our troops.

Thank you for your service to our country.

As for the hate and annihilation....not very cool. With all due respect, you have no right to call on our fine country to murder others.

You shouldn't be put down by anyone. Those people who are disrespectful to you don't have the guts that you have, and I am sure that they would never stick their necks out for another human being unless they were getting something in return. I am not a liberal, and therefore I do have a heart and a mind to think with, so shame on all those who put down. You are a person who has defended this country, they should be proud that people such as yourself voluntarily serve in the military and want to defend this country.

First of all, I shed tears with you. I appreciate your service and sacrifice.

That some in our society are so unaware and illogical that they would stoop to being disresptful to you is explaination enough of the type of people they are.

Keep your own council friend, continue to defend America with pride.

Regardless of what you see in here, I truly believe that the vast majority of Americans DO support you, respect you and would never do anything to disparage your service.

They are goobers, why let goobers bother you?

Well, I won't dispute your allegations, but in my experience with liberal-thinking folks, I've never heard one, not one, bash a vet or the troops. What they do bash is the insane war.

Furthermore, what would motivate a peace-loving, tree-hugging, equal-rights-promoting group of pacifists to insult vets or the troops? It makes no sense.

Well, Bush Jr. avoided the draft, didn't he ? Too busy getting drunk......
The point of the matter is, the troops can't be blamed for politics & the mistakes of some fools in power....
Yes, you are right, you should be given respect because you are doing your duty.

I DO support the alleviation of the plight of American troops who have been exploited by Dictator Dumbya. My name for him tells you what I think about that. I am familiar with the web site iava.org which might interest you if you are not. I DO wish you well, wherever you now are.
