As scarce as truth is, the supply is always greater than the demand.

The truth very rarely hurts me. Even in those situations where it would, I have the responsibility to accept that there's nothing I can do about it -- truth is truth. Therefore, I take it in stride, cheer or mourn as the situation warrants, and get on with life. I do expect full honesty from everyone I know; I don't like sugar-coating on the grounds that it will keep me happy.

We all have flaws so if we were always "thruthful" and pointing them out then a lot of hurt feeings would result. That is why, rather than always being "truthful" we are, instead, diplomatic. It sounds like you may have provoked an angry reaction for being "truthful" and it hurt you. This is part of the painful process we all go through that teaches us to temper our relations with others.

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH" Um, well people would rather be ignorant of the truth than know it all. Think if we knew the answer to every single question we ever had? Wow, I think I couldn't bear knowing all of that!

But I don't think all people would rather lie than tell the truth. I prefer to be straight up with people instead of suger coating the truth or making lies to avoid an important issue.

Depends on what your truth is. And the issue it is on. Not everyone is going to agree.
