Unplug it. Sometimes lint will clog the pump.If you can remove the drain hose, blow it out and go from there if the pump is working.

Two of the more common problems: In the motor/transmission area is a solenoid that controls a valve that opens and closes the flow from the tub. The timer dial has contacts inside of it. At a certain position in the timer the contacts close activating the solenoid. (to open or close the valve). Check solenoid or timer, good luck. Check for places that sell used washers.

I would say the pump is either broken or clogged. Usually they have a filter before the pump. Check to see if it is clogged.

Unfortunately had the same problem threw it out and coz i can't afford one now i wash with my hands.
