My mum used to get that, and then I found out what they made it with. Hydrogenated fish oil, lovely! Oh, I mean the Stork SB stuff not the Utterly Butterly or I Can't Believe It's Not Butter type spreads, at least they have some dairy in them.

Hate it!
When I was a Brownie (back in the seventies) I went on Brownie camp and we had margarine (at home we had butter so I thought margarine was what posh people had!) I was all excited at having margarine and soooooooo dissapointed when I found out what it tasted like! I don't think it's improved at all over the years, horrible stuff!

Real butter IS best, but a genuine close in "Clover", it is really good and spreads when cold, unlike butter. do give it a go, I think you'll be suprised.

Margerine was banned from Canada in the 30's.
For health reasons.... i wouldn't be surprised that "margarine" hygrogenized oil, be banned again very soon!
