Serena.
Hingis has one of the weakest serves in the game. She is a very smart player though, however Serena is much better of the two, because she can play with anyone. She's won more grand slams than Hingis and she did it against toughter opponents. Hingis won her slams at a time when Graf and Seles had injuries, Davenport, Venus and Serena weren't developed properly so Hingis took advantage of a lack of proper competition.
Today's game is mostly power and let's face it, Hingis does not have the power to play with the best of them. She does have brains and guile though but often that is not enough. And I hope no one says that she doesnt have power because of her size, because to that, i only say: Justine Henin Hardene

Well Serena leads their head-to-heads 7-6, so she definitely leads in that department... Also Serena has won 8? grand slam titles whilst hingis has only won 5. According to all of this Serena is the better player.
But Hingis was nr 1 at 16...

Serena in almost every way. Hingis has a lot of different game plans she can use, which is great when she is being outplayed. Serena, however, just plays her only game plan better when she is losing. Hingis has better precision and better volleys but is nowhere Serena in terms of power or quality of serves. They are about even in speed and footwork. Martina covers the court well for a small girl and Serena covers the court well for a big girl. At this point in their careers, however, I wouldn't pick Martina to beat Serena on any surface at any tournament under any reasonable circumstances. Serena's just better right now.

Why do you even have to ask? Serena of course!!!! She already won 7 or 8 grand slams compared to Hingis' 5....and Serena has won all grand slams unlike Hingis.

They're both great players with different styles. Hingis is a smarter player with more shot selections and stragegises her shots.
Serena on the other hand uses a lot of power to move her opponents around until they're out of the way for a kill shot!
I think Serena would do well on the men's tour too.

Serena only because she has more power, Hingis is a counterpuncher and runs everything down and pretty much will stay out there until she wins the point, however, if power game is on the power player is going to win..................

Serena, she won all the slams, while Hingis didn't win all the slams. Serena is better, she hits the ball harder than her.
If you want to know who is better at clay, that will be Serena.
