Hi, I am leaving my uni course and need to write a letter to my faculty telling them I want to leave. Do I just need to write:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I wish to leave my Criminology and International Relations course with immediate effect. Thank you.

This seems a bit short? Thanx.

I don't want to say thank you because I will be starting a new course in September.

i might say a ideal letter does no longer be needed, in simple terms communicate alongside with your professors and clarify which you would be lacking type for a week. maximum of them will probably inform you to get the artwork you ignored once you come back. Sorry approximately your grandmother's death! :(

Yes it is a bit short!
They would appreciate:
- your views on the course
- your reasons for leaving
- and, possibly, what you intend to do now!
Do make sure that that you are doing the right thing. (I would like to try your course don't waste it!)

How much of their time do you want to waste?

Keep it short. In addition to telling them that you are leaving the program, indicate that you are leaving the school. If you don't do that, they won't know if you are leaving the school or just want to change majors.

You could always put -
' Thank you for having me!'

But otherwise it seems fine

You could embellish the letter with your thanks, and your gratitude to certain members of staff. But hey, why bother? Just be matter-of-fact and to the point!
