I think it is pretty lame when teachers, who got into the profession for the teaching, are not putting their students ahead of their own petty problems. Extra school days should only happen because of snow, floods, bad storms. If the teachers can strike, why can't the students? If this strike will get in the way of what could possibly be your future career, then speak up and don't take this crap.

when i was in high school the teachers did the exact same thing. But don't worry, it'll be resolved rather quickly, they won't jeopardize the children's education. At my school non-tenure teachers had to teach(or else they would get fired) and substitutes were called in(not like they do much). But after everything was settled only 3 extra days were added on to the end of the school year.

You sound very selfish here. I'm sure you're not, but you have every right to be. Teachers are who help shape our future. Most of them are underpaid. They all have families they have to feed and support, unfortunately they can't do it with their pay. They don't want to strike any more than you want them to. But it's the last resort in standing up for what is much needed.

Well, If I was you, I'd write to your districts' Board Of Education (and make sure a copy of the letter gets to the superintendent). Try getting signatures from students that they will not come to school during the summer. They can't fail everybody.
