As a teen 13-16 I was into my rap music, Snoop Doggy Dogg,2pac, that whole west coast gansta rap thing.

At 17-24 I was mad into Dance music, not the cheesey dance music that fills our charts but house and trance, I listened to no other genre apart from this, and listened to it morning to evening at work, I was so mad about it I took up club DJ'ing myself, Dance music was my passion, I lived for it.

Then I hit 25 and gradually it wore of, I swore I would always love dance music but now I'm not so fussed, and I'm rather embarrased to admit I'm into my late 80's early 90's pop music now :-( Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Pat Bennatar, Billy Idol,Go West the list goes on....

Is this normal?? I just hope when I hit 40 i'm not listening to country and western

Your tastes definitely change. With age comes maturity and change. My parents used to tell me that would happen when I was into all the teeny bop bands of the 80's as a child. Now the 80's music I like is from the hard rock vein. Your taste definitely change.

Yes it is normal. I have gone from many different types (I still like more of the ones I used to, but I have branched out!)
And I love country music, it's my favorite, but when I was really young (like10) I despised it. Im 19 and have loved it for years! Not everyone will like the same music, it's totall yup to what you enjoy!

Yeap, it is normal! Definitely. I am about the same.

17-24 into hip hop/rap

25-28 Everything new that came out, I LOVED it.

30-now-Old Skool music majority of the time. R&B, slow music, jazz, classics (example, otis redding, ray charles, etc.)

i think of it is particularly straight forward for human beings to alter into extra appreciative of alternative genres of track as they strengthen older and alter into extra mature. almost no one who's of their 20s nonetheless listens to a similar track they did while they have been 13-15 years previous. Tastes exchange by using the years.

Yes, extremely. But I don't think its a factor of your age, just time moving along. My tastes in music have changed drastically but its not because I'm older (and lamer), its because I started hearing more and more music, putting it into different perspectives. Learning more, hearing more, experiencing more, growing into and out of things... if your taste in music never changed, I'd be scared you weren't growing!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God.
It show that a person is forever changing with the times and with age. That is why there are so many genres of music, something to satisfy every appetite. Think when you are happy..dance music. Sad, angry...Jazz. Your Girl just left...The Blues or Country. What's your mood.

Yes I believe it does. As you mature your taste matures. Like mine did, I used to love Rap and Hiphop but now I find it disgusting lyrics wise.
