Over time glasses have developed white marks or scratches. Are there any solutions to this?

Nope; I've done it too. The marks are called "etching",
and dishwashers do it to glass items. Toss them out and buy new ones. If you don't want it to happen again, had wash the items.

This seems to be a regular problem here . Many people forget to add the dishwasher salt, This reinforces the detergent. and stop´s the dull white film occurring . You can get rid of this by leaving your glass or glasses over night in a mixture of water detergent and a few drop´s of ammonia, this works for cut glass if they are badly stained. To remove lime deposit, fill the glass with distilled water , leave for a week, then gently remove the crust it will form with a toothbrush

Not usually if they are permanently etched from hard water deposits. I ruined a beautiful salad bowl set that way. Try soaking the items in vinegar, if it is not too late it will remove the calcium deposits. If it doesn't, it goes with the salad bowl set to the recycle bin.

Sounds like granular detergent that has not dissolved. May be the water in the DW is not hot enough . You may want to switch to a liquid detergent.
