I remember the days kids would play in the streets with no worries, people got outside and did stuff, God was a part of most peoples lives, the word Terrorist was a word only heard in action movies, when there used to be enough jobs for everyone and companies weren't outsourcing them to China, when there were a lot less worries in the world, when you sent your kids to school you didn't have to worry about a massacre or a teacher having sex with them, I could go on all day.

I'm thinking about bream fishing with my daddy, swimming in the pond, my mother teaching me how to cook, riding in the back of a pickup truck, watching Bugs Bunny cartoons on Saturday mornings, and having a family fish-fry every weekend. Those, my friend, were the good ole' days!!!

What a great question---thanks for bringing these memories to the surface!!!

I can start thinking about the good old days at any given time and I usually do. exspecially when there is something going on with the world today, I like to think back and remember of all the fun I had and wish I could go back.

I remember being able to go outside and play all day till the street lights came on and my parents never had to worry. I wish I could have that with my kids the world has become such a scary place.

First of all, I really think it would be beneficial to us in today's world, that we should go back to some of those good old days. We tend to move faster, not taking time to smell the roses. (As Mac Davis's 1975 song, "Stop And Smell The Roses...")

When I think of the good old days-
I think of the ice cream truck - Music playing, running in the house, fast as we can to beg for money.
I think of family fun, picnics, camping as the whole family.
No cell phones, computer and hardly TV.
Hat off at the dinner table, no chewing gum in front of company.
Home cooked meals, mom baking all bread, Cookies and birthday cakes.
Our dog waiting by school to take us safely home.
Playing all up our street, no crime such as we have today.
And every mom & dad- Mr. & Mrs.- If they gave us heck, we got it twice over when returned home.
Playing tag, hopscotch, skiprope, hide a seek and Tree forts (No Boys Allowed.)
I think of- Radio flyer wagon, Matels Slinky, Barbie dolls, G. I. Joe and Hot wheels.
At the creek, bringing home toads, frogs and tadpoles, in a jar (Mom needed for canning)

Man the list goes on...
WHAT EVER HAPPED TO THOSE GOOD OLD DAYS??

When I was around 8 years old, and I lived down a street that manyy of my school friends lived down. I'm telling you, those days were the best! We didn't have a care in the world.

My high school days, laughter, a much simpler life in the Philippines, adventure because I didn't know as much about life as I do now, loved ones, beaches, fresh fruits, crushes, old friends, petty quarrels, the funny, naughty things I did...
