People have been saying that for years. The end has come and gone many times if you believe many past predictions. For example, in 1974, John Gribbin and Stephen Plagemann published The Jupiter Effect, a book predicting that an alignment of the planets would create a number of catastrophes, including a great earthquake on the San Andreas Fault in 1982. The predicted catastrophes did not occur. In his 1999 book "The Little Book of Science," Dr. Gribbin said of his theory "...I don't like it, and I'm sorry I ever had anything to do with it."

So, no, the end is not really near. And I don't think about it much at all.

Not a soul in this world knows if the end is near. Alot of signs sure but there have been for many many years....I would live today and everyday like there were no tomorrow if there was a fact proven that the end was near.

Frightens me I most say! However I believe we should make the best of our lives.
One day they say we've got thousands of years the next day they say in fact the end, begins within 50 years. Be happy settle down and build your family or go down the single road if you want, as long as you make the most of your life!! Take care of the world you live in cause if all do so, maybe we can extend the 50 years to at least a couple of hundreds..
Wishful thinking I know :P

Um, no it's not.
I don't think about it much.

The REAL end is coming on January 19, 2038, when all programs written in the C++ language will reset themselves due to the date.

And it's still 31 years off.

to me, there is something more important than that. that is the individual's life. i mean, anybody can die anytime, even before The End. and by then, you can no longer correct your previous sins and no longer be able to do any more good. irrespective of your religion or belief.

hence, i always start everyday afresh. i do enjoy my life, but at the same time, i vow to be a better person than i ever was yesterday. do more good things. and i also learn to enjoy doing good things. and if you have not started, you should too =)

Hope this helps, Peace.

How do you know the end is near? Can you share that information with us or is it a secret only you know?

I believe we have all been dead for millions of years and are now living in a Hell on Earth system which is getting worse all the time. I also believe that history can be repeated over and over again like a disc on a computer.

Well for me it will probably be around 60/70 years time.

But if you're born today and female you now have a 40% chance to live to your 120's.
