Is there Taxi/cab service in Visakhapatnam (VYZ) airport??

Question

I will be arriving at the visakhapatnam airport from hyderabad and was wondering if there is any taxi cabs available for hire. This is my first travel to vizag. Appreciate your replies.

I'm afraid I haven't been able to find THAT much information for you, but what I have come up with is a start. It appears that you'll most likely be able to get either a taxi or an auto-rickshaw from Vizag airport when you arrive -- my guess is that you'll be approached by a few drivers, so might want to ask around and haggle a little to get the best price. From what I can determine, the airport is about 15km from the city center; an auto-rickshaw ride should run you around 175 rupees (USD$4) and a taxi ride about 300 rupees (USD$7.) Again, I'm almost certain that there'll be some room for maneuver there.

If you don't mind dialing long-distance, you could try giving the Tourist Information Center in Vizag a quick call -- their number is 0891 -754716. I've also listed a few sites in the Sources section that you might find helpful.

Again, sorry not to have a definitive answer for you, but perhaps this will help a little to start with. I really can't imagine that you'd be stranded at the Vizag airport with no way of getting in to town; it might just take a little skilled bargaining in order to find the right price.

I had a friend all through high school like that. Everyday it was can I get a ride home, can I get ride to work, here, there everywhere. I started making up excused like my cars broke down. I have to go to work so I won't be around. After awhile she stopped asking. I think she knew I was lying but it solved the problem.
