Let's see I've been dating my boyfriend for 4 years, I guess I'll just tell you the big gifts I have bought him and what for.
19th birthday- St. Christopher's Neckace, I decorated the box that I gave the necklace to him in with a portrait of St. Christopher and inside the box was the story of the saint.
Our one year I gave him his promise ring.
1 1/2 I think that I gave him a portable dvd player, we've both have gotten a lot of use out of that.
2 1/2 I got him a computer game and the expansion pack that he had been wanting.
His 20th birthday I bought him a grill
3 1/2 I took him to Target and told him to pick out a Cd and a Dvd set that he wanted. He seemed to like shopping for himself, but I felt like I got him more than like a gift certificate because I was there with him.
His 21st birthday I threw him a huge surprise birthday party and when half with him on a Wii.
I've also bought him Vert cologne from PacSun, and shirts, and things like that.
We are fixin' to celebrate our 4 year and I think that I am going to buy him a new guitar.
I have no idea along what lines you were thinking, but I hope that that gave you some idea.
P.S. Once I made him Pillsbury (sp?) milk chocolate brownies and got him roses. While he was at work I snuck them into his car and he really enjoyed the surprise.

You've got to start small. If you go for an expensive gift, you're setting yourself up to continue to buy expensive gifts. Set the bar low.

I got him an Indianapolis Colts Jersey. He love it. It was their away game jersey so it was all white with the blue letters and numbers. He loves them and he's always wanted one.
