I know that those two are not the spokespeople for black Americans - there are as many different opinions on things as there are black people - same as any other race of people. I think a lot of black folks are probably embarrassed by Al Sharpton. He may have done some good for his community, but as far as I can tell he is an opportunistic, hypocritical, racist.

no one or 2 human beings characterize an entire race yet while they are the only ones speaking up than all people immediately concludes that. Does George Bush characterize all Caucasians? I exceptionally doubt it. For Black individuals that have a difficulty with Rev. Al and Rev. Jesse Jackson perhaps they should start up speaking up approximately subject concerns that concern them and not in ordinary terms on Yahoo solutions.

Because they get the most airtime. If more white people could actually talk to us in our daily lives without them being so insensitive and us being so defensive they wouldn't be so quick to accept Al or Jesse as our voice.

because we dont have any real leaders. smart people know that they do not represent us all. BUT i would like to say that when an issue concerns us THEY are the ones who speak up! many times the only ones. People are acting as if they arent necessary but I would disagree with that. Imagine how many issues woud have went ignored if they didnt. and bush is an epitome of white america! unfortunately! ignorant and power hungry.
