Will Shields is a lock for the Hall of Fame. No one has been to more probowls than this guy (12 times). As a Chief fan I hate to see him go, but it is good to see him walk away at the top of his game, and with his head still attatched.
LJ will not get 2000 yards this year or probably any year. The Chiefs had too many injuries in the backfield last year (FB Ronnie Cruz, HBs Micheal Bennent & Quinten Griffin), and that is why LJ had so many carries. You can expect 1500-1800 yds & 20 TDs for the next 5 years or so.

Will Shields is certainly a Hall of Famer. LJ hasn't ever rushed for 2,000 yards in a season and Shields retirement isn't going to help at all. Thats just one more spot on the o-line they need to fill and you just don't find someone to replace a guy like Shields anywhere. Its a sad day for Chiefs fans. Will Shields was a great player and competitor, but more importantly he's a great man.

Shields should definately make the HOF.
LJ, he's such a bruiser, he's capable of getting 2000 yards but if he wants to have a longer career, he better hope a servicible back-up can come in and share the load. Otherwise LJ could have a stellar but brief career like former Bronco Terrel Davis.

Losing Shields hurts the KC OL but LJ wouldn't have gotten 2,000 with or without him. KC uses LJ like they did last year (400+ carries) and he won't last long. It's been proven over and over, there is only so much punishment the RBs body can take.
