it needs a fresh coaching approach, the whiole team dont become rubbish over night. we dont approach games like other nations do, everyone moaning that trescothick not going is the problem is rubbish aswell, one batsman doesnt make a team!
we need grass roots investment and more coverage of the domestic game to get people interested. except the fact that we arent good look at areas where we need to change. michael vaughan , great captain but as a one day batsman he wouldnt get into anyone elses one day side, a team is only as strong as its weakest link so the switching round of joyce and strauss is irelevent if neither has a partner to play with.

More people need to be encouraged to take part or at least learn about the sport, this way England may come across some talented players. Winning the Ashes a couple of years ago made everyone wake up and realise that cricket can be fun too, and England is good at it. But after this disappointing World Cup, it's going to put people off again and we're back to square one.
Look at Ireland, after their brilliant performance, many people in Ireland will start gaining an interest in the game.
On a team level, the first thing should be to get rid of Vaughan. He hasn't performed at all during the World Cup, at least take away the captaincy from him if it's causing him too much pressure. Apart from Pietersen, there haven't been any reliable batsmen. Nixon plays a quick innings when needed but there's not much support for him by then. He should be pushed up the order.

haha, i've got a number of them yet there are some new ones i've got no longer heard! i like this alians description of cricket ""I went to a extensive eco-friendly field formed like a meteorite crater. around the perimeters, numerous thousand worshippers amassed. Then 2 clergymen walk to the centre of the sphere to an oblong area and hammer six spears into the floor, 3 at each and every end. Then 11 extra clergymen walk out, clad in white robes. Then 2 intense clergymen wielding golf equipment walk to the centre and one in all the different clergymen starts off throwing a pink orb at those with the golf equipment." "Gee," responded the different alien, "what happens next?" "Then it starts off to rain."

I am sorry to say that after early 80's English team has never been a very good team and what they performed in the WC was just expected from them. Their performance has always been erratic and if you talk about the changes then please change the whole team and try young blood, may it work.
