Unless you have a tare, the blood is not coming from your behind.

Most likely, the blood you are seeing when you wipe has actually dripped there from the pressure exerted when you are trying to have a bowel movement. I know it sounds weird, but that is the most likely cause. However, if the blood is in fact coming from your rectum, only when you are going "#2", then you do not have anything to worry about. If your stool is black, that is a sign of internal bleeding, if the stool is any other color with blood on it, you either have an internal or external hemorhoid, or have slightly torn your anus from being constipated...none of these things requires a visit to the doctor. If the hemorhoid is on the outside, pick up some cotton make up pads and witch hazel. Soak the pad with the witch hazel and fold it it half and wedgie it in between you butt cheaks, I know this sounds gross, but it works. Keep it there for about 10 minutes and it will reduce the swelling. If it is an internal hemorhoid or a tear in the anus, adjust your diet so that your stool is softer and you should be ok. You could use preparation H, but it's kinda greasy and can stain your underwear.

I had major hemorroid problems when i was pregnant (they were the size of grapes) and had to have an operation...not fun!

Good luck!

No , this isnt normal...

Are you sure its deffinatly coming from the anus..periods can be messy and sometimes go up everywere!! and in that direction especially when you wear pads etc..

If it is , go get it seen too asap...it could just be a simple tear in the anal passage which would cause a bit of bleeding...or something that requires medications..either way it needs too be checked out by a doc..

Good luck!

I've had that happen - but it's because usually before my period, I usually get constipated and end up getting piles and then I bleed (while I happen to be on my period).

I don't think it's normal for you to have rectal bleeding unless you have piles (which I'm guessing can be as common as constipation is in menstruating women!). You want to get it checked out if you can! It's probably nothing but you don't want to risk it in case it's not an open and shut case of piles.

Hope this helps! :)

No. It sounds like you have a hemmorhoid. You definitely should get more fiber into your diet. Read up on fiber deficiencies.

are you sure that is where it is coming from? Or could it be running back from the vagina? Be absolutely sure.
If it is fron the anus, please visit your dr.
