1. Multiply & simplify into lowest terms...3a+(2a-1)(a-3)

First: eliminate parenthesis - use the Foil Method.

(2a)(a)+(2a)(-3)+(-1)(a)+(-1)(-3)

2a^2 + (-6a) + (-1a) + 3

2a^2 - 6a - 1a + 3

Sec: combine "like" terms - combine terms with the same variable (a).

2a^2 - 7a + 3

Third: combine the expression with 3a.

3a +(2a^2 - 7a + 3)

3a + 2a^2 - 7a + 3

= 2a^2 - 4a + 3

P.S. Try #2 by following the same method from #1

3a+2a*a-2a*3-1*a+1*3
=3a+2a^2-6a-a+3
=2a^2-4a+3

(2y-3)(yᶟ+4y-1)
=2y^2+8y^2-2y-3y^2-12y+3
= 7y^2-14y+3
