I just moved into a 2nd floor apartment, and the lady under me smokes alot! Now my apartment is starting to smell really bad.
What can I do? We're all allowed to smoke in our own apartment, so I can't complain to the Landlords.
Any tips would awesome!

Febreeze works good, and burn candles, air out your apartment when your home. Smoke sticks to everything and it is a disgusting smell. Good luck.

You can put a fan in your window and exhaust (blow the air out). You can sprinkle your carpet with baking soda or borax to absorb the odor. You can spray Oust, Zero Odor, Ozium, Lysol, Fabreeze or any of the other odor eliminating sprays. You can burn strong inscense, candles, wax tarts or porpurri liquid. You can put little bowls of vinegar around your apartment. You can get FilterMates at the home improvement stores to attach to your furnace filter which will emit a nice odor all of the time and especially when the AC or heat is turned on. You can set bowls of popurri around your apartment and refresh them now and again with fragrance oils. You can get one of those fragrant reed diffusers with a wonderful oil. You can put drops of vanilla on your light bulbs so that they emit the smell every time you turn on the light. Can you tell I've lived around a smoker and had to be ingenious about fighting the smell???

One thing that will absorb the smoke & is cheap is 1 onion. Cut the onion in half, lay face up.and add a small amount of ammonia. You will see it change color , and when it becomes a dark brown , then replace and do the same again. OUST is a very good air freshener, and get´s rid off all smell´s . but you cannot be standing all day with that in your hand, try with the onion it works

I know this will sound strange, but it works wonders!

Buy a spray bottle or use an old one and fill it with the cheapest vodka you can find.

Vodka takes the smell out of almost anything. When I smoked, I used it in my car all the time.

The alcohol smell will go away once the area is dry, leaving no smell behind.

To start with, give the walls, ceiling, and the carpet a good cleaning. Fabreeze works good, and you can spray the carpet and air with that. Now go out and get a good HEPA air filter and turn it on.
