You can deliver a baby anytime... the health is solely individual. The 8th month is when the babie's lungs are developing- so there are risks, but doctors and hospitals are prepared for everything, and early deliveries happen every day. Don't be worried.... your baby will come when he/ she is ready and I'm sure if there were any health concerns, your doctor would have you and the baby covered. Relax (while you can) lol.
Take it easy, and good luck!

Thats the strangest thing I've ever heard about having a baby. No thats not true, the baby has a much better chance of surviving at 8 months than 6. Few babies live when born that early.

I was born at 24 1.5 weeks so I survived. Though I had to stay in the hospital for 9 months. But yes a baby can survive at 8 months. It's only by the grace of ALLAH that I didn't die when I was born.

Recently a baby was born at 21 weeks and survivied. If I am not mistaken, that is the earliest recorded survival of a pre-term baby.
I don't know where you got that nonsense about babies not living at 8 months. That simply is not true. In actuallity the normal gestation is considered 37-42 weeks (8-10 months). Only 5% of babies are born on their actual due date. 50% of babies born are born in the 8th month.

It is not exactly true. There are phases in the development, maybe something to do with suckling, that are actually benefciial for a baby born sooner than later. But many that are also the opposite of course. My son was a preemie and the nurses in the nicu and I talked about these, but was a little out of it then, so forget the details.

in the UK a baby is classed as viable at 24weeks so from 24weeks onwards a baby can be born and 'survive' meaning that doctors will fight for the baby to live but they will not do this anytime before 24weeks. A baby survived from 22weeks in the States though so I dont know what the policies are around the world.

Actually they usually deliver twins at 7 months. Actually I dont see why you wouldn't be able to have a baby at 8 months.

It all just depends upon the amount of surfactant in the baby's lungs. Unless you are having a high risk pregnancy or the baby is in danger I would not worry too much. We have excellent medical technology to assist a preemie these days.
