I had a c-section 2 weeks ago today...however, my abdominal soreness is gone, what I feel now is that the skin around my incision is very sensitive. It almost feels like it's burnt which is just so weird. I have no infection and it is not "hot", but feels very sensitive when I touch it. When I walk it gets to be painful at times...when it rubs against my clothes....what did you feel while recovering?

My recovery went very well. A bit of sensitivity is expected as the wound is still healing. Here's a tip for reducing rubbing with your clothes: Put a mentral pad over the incision, using the adhesive to stick it to your underwear. I felt back to normal by about 6 weeks.

All very normal feelings. I have had 4 c-sections. I still could not stand up straight 2 weeks after my first. It still hurt to laugh and cough. After my other c-sections, I healed faster and felt better sooner. My incision was actually numb for a long time. As long as you are not running a fever, your incision is not draining or smelling foul and it is not red and hot to the touch, you are fine. Also, your incision will heal better and feel better once your staples are out, if they aren't already. Good Luck.

Congratulations!!! On the new baby!!!

I had a c-section and I started walking the day after...yeah if was painful and it was like I was Hunchback of Notre Dame...of course the pain went away...but until this day (2 1/2 years later) I still have numbness around the incision...

They didn't use staples on me, they used the disolvable type stiches.

Well, I had two C sections..THe first One I was 24 and I recovered very quickly...Then second one I was 31 and It took me about a Month. THe pain was terrible..THe nurses told me that I needed to walk and get up as much as possible. I guess that you need to try to move as much as possible. Staying in bed is not good. Also ASk your Dr. when is a good time to start taking baths in the bath tub...That can help you relax....I understand that Pain medication is not the Best thing. I was on morphine for 24 hours and when they took it I wanted to die.. just hang on and try to concentrate in the Baby.

About the same with my first, but at my second c-section, I had so many muscles that were damaged by the cut of the first one that I didn't feel as much pressure or pain. I got up quicker the second time, too. Probably TOO soon, but I had an older child and didn't have any choices. Rest as often as you can, (ha ha!) and talk to your doctor if it continues to bother you in any way. Congratulations, by the way!!
