If you have PCOS with Insulin Resistance and you don't ovulate or have cycles then yes, the metformin MIGHT help your cycles return. If your cycles return it should make it possible to get pregnant. You need to make sure you actually have PCOS with IR before starting the met, as it has some nasty side effects. Take whatever dosage your doctor has given you. Be sure to take it with food.

Hi. i also have PCOS and thought i could never get pregnant.

My fertility doctor put me on metformin and gave me an injection and here i am 16 weeks pregnant!

I took a 500 mg capsule twice a day. You just have to watch your sugar doesnt drop. Mine did and i felt horrible... Drink alot of OJ.

Good Luck!!!

I just wanted to add that you do not have to be insulin resistant. I am not, but I take metformin because it regulates my periods, thus helping me to get pregnant.
