I have four kittens that I am planing a blessing ritual for and need a way to summon the Egyptian cat goddess Bast to the ritual circle to ask for her blessing on the kittens.

CAT BLESSING RITUAL
You will need :
A gold candle(For the God/dess)
A cat figure candle for each cat ( or just a white one)
A favorite incense,
Of course, your kitty

Light the incense and place the candles in the center of the altar. Cast your circle. Light the gold candle and invoke the Horned God:
O Great Horned God, consort of the Goddess, I invoke thee, and invite thee, into this circle.

Light the white candle and then, holding your cat, kneel before the altar and recite the following prayer:
O Great Horned God,
Father of the woodlands
And loving lord of all creatures
That walk cralw, swm and fly
A threefold blessing I humbly ask
Of thee on this special day:
May this cat's life be a long
Happy and healthy one.
May she always receive
Your divine protection.
And when our incarnations
In this world cease to be
May we forever be reunited
In the great Wiccan otherworld
Known as the Summerland.
Blessed be!

After the prayer has been recited, gaze into the flame of the gold candle and chant three times the name of your cat with the words "Blessed Be". Kiss your kitty and set him down. Give thanks to the Horned God in your own way and close the circle.

Having many Wiccan & Pagan friends, and having been generic Pagan for years before stumbling upon Shinto, I can tell you this:

There is no "summoning spell" for any entity. That sort of thing is nonsense touted by the likes of Silver Ravenwolf and "Charmed-worshipping" fluffbunnies.

What you want is a ritual blessing, which you can design & tailor to your own needs, or modify from another pagan's existing ritual.
My best friend did something similar for all of her cats, and it was a variation of her spring equinox ritual (new life and all that). Being a devout follower of Bast, she made sure to include lots of symbolism & even one Egyptian prayer.

I digress. Your best option is to design your own blessing that 'feels right' to you; it's the thought that counts, not the method of delivery.

worry no longer, Blue. All those depraved non-believers will spend eternity in the great litterbox in Hades and be continually dumped on and scratched around and urinated on via Bast's super horde of tom cat worshippers. Repent ye sinners and prostrate yourselves in the past the powerful Bast and convey alternatives of kippers and catnip. even though sardines will make an aceptable replace or perhaps a juicy salmon. Bast abhors mice and different rodents so do no longer insult her via making an offering of one.Why do you think of cats KILL mice and rodents? Brightest reward, Raji the golf green Witch

I'm a Christian so I really don't believe in Bast the goddess, she's just a statue that supposedly was a "god of cats" the best you can do is ask God to bless your kittens...it's better than having a false god or demon to do it.

bast was known to be an evil god that destroyed the Pharaoh and again it was worshiped by many occults and black magic workers you can never summon a god or angel but for blessing you can give one of the kittens for sacrifice and the others will be blessed

The best I can do for you is this blessing and a website. I am sure that invoking Bastet is the simular to invoking other Goddesses.

Protective Blessing for Cats

Bast, Beauty of Grace,
Protectress of the Feline race,
Shield [name of cat] from all hurt and harm
Always keep [him/her] safe and warm.
Watch over [name of cat] each and every day
Guide [him/her] home, if [he/she] should ever stray
Grant [him/her] great happiness
A good life free of strife and stress.

Being a Christian, I can only say that when you summon this Bast entity, be prepared--you just may get more than you bargained for.

I don't know that I'd go so much for the "Summoning" approach as the "Request your presence and blessing" approach.

To me "summoning" has the undertones of "Get here now, I command it" and that doesn't tend to go over very well, IMHO.

What a fantastic idea! :-)

This site might give you a place to start. I think the most important thing is just to give Her some attention. Read about her in the mythology books, and give Her something she'd like. (Burn it as incense, pour it in the ground.)
