best place to stay Mombasa or Nairobi? Pro's/Con's

june and july is a great time to go
it's like their winter so its not too hot and it's in between the rainy seasons

First, Kenya is an equitorial country which means there isn't a summer or a winter but there are two rainy seasons. I have been in July/August and the weather was damp on some days in Nairobi and outside of the city the weather was hot at mid day and very cool (dipped to 40F) at night. I believe that Mombasa's weather stays about the same year round.
Nairobi has a higher altitude so the weather is a little cooler than it is on the plains. Mombasa's weather should be on the warmer side and tropical due to its location on the shore.

hey! i was born in kenya and the best place to stay its definetly Mombasa at south coast that place is hands down gorgous especially the hotel beaches and white sand damn!! Best weather for travelling is around November, December.
Nairobi is kinda like New york but it doesn't have a lot of pple like NYC. There are a lot of beautiful places u could go and eat and pple are usually friendly especially to tourist.

The best time for guys from temperate countries would be in July - August when we have our "winter" months!. Mombasa by then is just balmy and warm. Otherwise Nairobi is just too chilly...
Otherwise it is great weatherwise almost thro' out the year. Karibu !!!!

As someone who knows Kenya very well, I spent my early childhood years over there with my parents, June to August has the best climate in Nairobi.
Mombasa is generally hot, all year round esp. between 11 am to 3pm.

The best time to travel in kenya is from mid june to early January everly year, but for budget travel there is Mid march to Mid june and the month of october to mid november

trust me, the best time to go to Kenya is August coz the weather is mild and not too hot.
If you want to go when its quite rainy and muddy then go during march or April
If you want to go when its smokin hot, go around December.

I would think spring or fall, and not during the heavy heat of summer.
