Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Bauhaus, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure Oh dear... I just realized how old I am :'( You probably want bands out now, so, The 69 eyes, The Rasmus, Marilyn Manson, nin, Cradle of Filth, and stuff.

Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Voltaire, The Dresden Dolls, Jill Tracy, Autumn's Grey Solace, Unto Ashes, Legendary Pink Dots, Sisters of Mercy, Rozz Williams, and too many to list. Check out Projekt... it's a record label for a lot of different gothic and darkwave bands. Hopefully that will give you a good idea :).

Evanescence are on the fringes of the Goth scene. they have been in touch with distinct "finished on" goth communities over the most suitable few years. the region with goth is in basic terms how do you outline it. Goth as a musical style would not truly exist, that's the followers of all issues darkish, in basic terms see you later because that's no longer too introverted who count number as goth! besides in basic terms be your self, and don't be disturbed too a lot about labels!

The real goth bands were Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, and their ilk. Not those poseurs the others mention.
