Not to sound raciest because I am white myself but most of the crazy shootings led by white males. And maybe thats just because they take the majority of the population here. But just a thoght, I was sure suprised.

A little. Not because of the race, but when I heard he was Asian, I wondered if he was an exchange student. "What kind of pressure could an exchange student have to make him want to go postal like that?" was the first thing that ran through my head.
Now that I know he's an emigrant, I can't fathom what could have been going on through his head. It didn't seem to be a racially motivated shooting.

I did not even hear about the race until this morning. With the delay I was concerned that the person may have been an Arab and the government was keeping it quiet until they were sure it had nothing to do with the war. At least it was not the beginning of an enemy attack. Though nothing will really make it better.

Who ever gave flower a thumbs down KMA. The surprise is not that he is Korean. The surprise will be when they find him a plant of Kim Jung Ill. This guy shot to well for a mentally deranged immigrant. Especially since he was random at it.

Maybe you are a racist and have been conditioned to think in those terms by the culture. Trying to apply some kind of an event like to a particular race is kind of nuts, since there have been incidents of all races and cultures doing crazy things like this and in fact a number of these things have been Asian. We have come to embrace extreme views as though they are normal and part of that is the media. The media reports the exception and not the rule and about two decades ago starting reporting local news as national news. This is a huge nation and there are freaky things happening everyday somewhere. When the national media starting doing remote broadcasts of bank robberies, local murders, any event that might get people to do the freaky gaze like people driving past a traffic accident. Consequently, people think in terms of extremes and sometimes people act them out. Acts like this are the best way to become known and to have people talk about you. We hear about three white guys in the KKK but not the millions upon millions of blacks and whites who co exist everyday. We hear about illegal immigrants but nothing about the millions of Hispanic Americans who staff schools, police departments, public offices, etc. We have been conditioned to think in terms of extremes because that is what we are shown everyday. Who knows why this guy did this. Perhaps he came to embrace a radical view or religion which is chic today, stylish, attention getting. Those of us who are happy to live our lives out peacefully and productively are poorly served by our trashy news organizations and celebrity reporters.

not to sound racist i was suprised, but that is a stereotype i know to assume that someone asian wouldnt commit such a crime. anyone is capable of anything. but usually society portrays asians as quiet and diligent students who dont want any trouble. (not my opinion!!! just saying what the stereotype is) b/c i know alot of asians who get drunk everyday and party all night lol so yea like i said anyone can do anything i guess race isnt an issue

Nationality has nothing to do with the shooting.
Mental health(or lack of) is responsible.
